In spite of strenuous study sessions, students may fail to deliver on the D-Day i.e. the final day of CBSE Board exam. Extended study sessions and prolonged revision exercises may serve no purpose while writing answers in the final CBSE board exam, as students struggle with words and points slip out of their minds. As a result, students often moan after exams that they knew the answers, but somehow they could not deliver when it was required! All these are indications of a bad memory. A poor memory can and often does spell havoc with students as they write their CBSE Board Exam. However, all you students out there need not worry! With CBSE board exams round the corner you can work consciously to improve your memory and brush away those weak memory days to make way for a sharp and efficient memory. Food for thought! A healthy diet contributes to a healthy brain and a better memory. Instead of eating junk and oily food while preparing for CBSE board exam, students should have their fill of fresh fruits and vegetables. Fresh fruits and vegetables promote healthy brain functioning and lead to a better memory. While preparing for CBSE board exam, students should spread their food intake over 5 or 6 small meals in a day instead of 3 large meals. Doing so will aid memory- both short term and long term- and also help keep away lethargy that is a result of a heavy meal. - Exercising works! In order to improve memory and score well in CBSE board exams students should exercise regularly. Exercising not only benefits the body but also the brain. Regular physical exercising improves the circulation of blood and oxygen in the brain and body, which in turn helps to ward off memory loss. Exercising also helps students to stay alert and remain focused while studying. Along with the physical exercises, students should also exercise their brains regularly. Students can challenge themselves with puzzles and games that help keep their brain active. One can also try out the various memory resources available online that help estimate the size of working memory, and identify weak areas in the memory retention. So do not let your brain get lazy and start exercising today! - Repetition is the key! One of the most important key to a sharp brain and a good score at CBSE board exam is to keep on repeating and revising the already studied material. In memory terms this process is known as ‘rehearsal’. The better ‘rehearsed’ the material is, the higher are its chances of getting pushed from the working memory to the long term memory. One effective technique for revising is to try and recall the memorized material and attempting to write it down on a paper. An exercise like this helps in keeping the ‘traces’ of memory active and through the process of quizzing the brain helps it to stay active and sharp. To increase recall, students can also revise using the ‘teach technique’. Under this technique, students can revise concepts by teaching it to their friends. An activity like this reinforces the learned material in the student’s own memory and in the process helps them to retain information for a longer time. - Use the link technique! Students can increase recall and score well in CBSE board exams by using the link technique wherein they ‘link’ the concepts they learn with real life situations. For example, students can learn about gravity by linking it with pictures and images of men and women traveling in space and the weightlessness experienced therein; relate photosynthesis with the poorly growing plant that struggles for life in a closed room that is deprived of sunlight. The ‘Link technique’ helps in the understanding and retaining concepts and significantly boosts memory for CBSE board exam. - Don’t miss out on those sleep hours! Just like the body the brain also needs rest. The amount of sleep a student gets is directly related to his/her ability to recall the recently learned information. It is important for students to sleep for at least seven to eight hours in a day. However, students are advised not to over indulge in sleeping, as they might not be left with any time to study for their CBSE board exam! With all these memory boosting techniques, I am positive that all important information will be on your tips and scoring good marks at CBSE board exam will be easy. academic writers
